An “afro-futurist” project that embraces contemporary language and familiar sounds; these in particular turn out to be an ancestral perception, an atavistic memory of the past. Now we have the meeting with Dj Khalab and his Afrodisia mob who uses digital technology in his rhythmical research to interpret urban culture as a hypnotic container for a vast and diverse range of beats; his vibrations arise from African traditions and the African diaspora, known as the result of slavery and migrations. This is how the Khalab’s electronic beat will battle against the delicate notes of the stringed instruments (ngoni, kamalengoni), the percussions (tamani) from Sissoko’s Africa together and with his very special way of storytelling and singing with that profound pulsations of far away countries.
